As academics, we\u2019re researchers, teachers, supervisors, mentors, and public intellectuals. We generate knowledge, guide students, and contribute to the social, cultural, and economic fabric of our communities. But our work is under constant pressure \u2013 from insecure employment to unsustainable workloads, shrinking autonomy, and the creeping corporatisation of the sector.<\/p>\n

Joining the NTEU is how we fight back \u2013 not as individuals, but collectively.<\/p>\n

And importantly, we don\u2019t do it alone. Our union brings together all university workers \u2013 academic and professional staff alike \u2013 because it\u2019s our shared effort that makes a university function. We push for realistic workload models that protect your time for research, teaching, and service \u2013 and we challenge the constant creep of admin and overwork.<\/p><\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>

Secure, ongoing work<\/h2>\n

Fixed-term churn and casual contracts are endemic. The union fights to convert insecure roles into ongoing ones \u2013 and to ensure all workers have stable, decent jobs.<\/p><\/div>\n \n \n <\/div>\n <\/div><\/div>
