NTEU Membership
In NURSING
Just like in our hospitals, we need adequate staffing levels and manageable workloads in our Nursing schools that let us give our best to our patients and our students.
The best way to ensure that is to join the NTEU and raise our voices together.
The NTEU has a reciprocal relationship with the NSW Nurses & Midwives Association (NSWNMA) for staff who work at both a university and a clinical site. If you work in both, you’ll only need to pay fees to one union.
Dual membership gives you full membership of both unions. If you’re already a NSWNMA member, dual membership means you can work with colleagues to improve working conditions at the university and you can get individual advice and assistance if you need it.
There are three categories of NTEU membership for Nursing staff:
Working at a University only
Join the NTEU as normal.
University primary work site
Working 60% or more at a university
Fill out the expression of interest form, join the NTEU and we’ll forward your membership details to the NSWNMA for dual membership.
Clinical primary work site
Working less than 60% at a university
Join the NSWNMA, then complete the expression of interest form for dual membership with the NTEU.
