Email the Vice-Chancellor and Council
As UON marks its 60th anniversary, staff are fighting to protect the future of our university. And we need your support!
But instead of working with staff, University management has:
- Proposed 140 job cuts with no genuine consultation;
- Denied its strong financial position, including a $61 million surplus in 2024; and
- Applied for Fair Work Commission intervention, a step that could remove staff and union voices from bargaining altogether.
If bargaining is sidelined and hundreds of jobs are lost, morale will fall further and students will pay the price through larger classes, fewer services and a weaker university.
That’s why we’re calling on the Vice-Chancellor and University Council to:
- Engage constructively with NTEU members and elected representatives who speak for staff;
- Make meaningful progress towards a fair enterprise agreement; and
- Withdraw the proposed job cuts and pursue non-staffing savings instead.
Join us in urging UON leadership to choose a better path. Sign the letter today.
No more delays: job security and fair workloads now
