All Staff Bargaining Briefing | Why NTEU Members are on Strike

Monday, 16 March - 4:30pm

Online via Zoom

UTS Management don’t seem to understand what UTS staff care about. After 6 months of bargaining, Management’s bargaining team have tabled clauses that undermine you rights and ignored requests for modest improvements to key provisions regarding workloads, governance, and job security. They have also refused to provide a pay offer.

No one wants to take time away from teaching and your workplace, or disrupt our incredible university community, but when all attempts at negotiation and compromise have been dismissed, it is time to escalate.

All UTS staff are welcome to come to this session where we will talk about why we are going on strike, what it means to take industrial action, what our key claims are in this round of bargaining, and what UTS Management are doing behind closed doors to strip away your rights.

Not a member? No worries! This event is for you to learn how your workplace rights might be changing in the near future.
