UTS Management have made one thing clear in our 6 months of bargaining. They don’t respect you, and they don’t think members like you represent UTS staff.
Their side has attacked our rights with proposals that would deny staff our automatic annual step increases, eliminate the life-changing casual conversion and fixed-term conversion programs (that secured work for hundreds of staff), and allow UTS Management to continue to pile more and more work onto our already out of control workloads.
They are even planning on cutting our pay.
Inflation is up, UTS profits are up (they want to bank $371 million in cash by 2030), but according to their budgeting, our pay has to stay below inflation. A real wage cut.
Our claims have been mocked, insulted, dismissed, and ignored – the only reason Management can get away with any of this is because they aren’t hearing from you directly.
Enough is enough. It is time to remind UTS what it looks like when NTEU members get together and demand fair and reasonable treatment.
We’ve successfully defended jobs and we’ve won sector leading EBA’s before. It is time to do it again, together.
Come to this UTS Branch General Members Meeting where you will decide what actions you will take to defend your rights, and fight for an EBA all UTS staff deserve.
